Dogs aren’t exactly unobtrusive: They crash through the house, bark at everything that moves, and make their furry presences known at every opportunity. Needless to say, if you want a quiet, low maintenance pet, it’s probably best that you go with a fish.

Sometimes, though, dogs position themselves in places where you hardly notice them. Tucked away in a nondescript corner or on a rug that matches their fur, it’s almost like there’s no dog in the house at all. Of course, sometimes this has dangerous consequences – apologies to all the dogs on couches that I’ve accidentally sat on – but sometimes, it just looks cute.
