What comes into your mind when you think about fluffy animals? For most of us, its either cats or dogs but here are another fluffy animal that will steal your attention!
Alpacas live and thrive in South America. They are not the same with llamas, so don’t get confused. They are very had to distinguish, but alpacas are a little bit smaller. Some fun fact about alpacas is that they don’t live in the wild but instead, they are exclusively domestic. They have been domesticated in the Americas for about 6,000 years. Alpacas supply humans their gorgeous wool, which is used to weave blankets, clothes, and much more.
Not only the soft, fluffy and beautiful fur is their lovable features but they also have hilariously expressive faces. You’ll instantly fall in love with all the charms they spread amongst them!
1. She’s beauty, she’s grace.
This alpaca is striking a natural pose in her pen, but she’s sporting a little more nature on her head. With her regal pose and beautiful flower crown, she may as well be the queen of the alpacas. Her Majesty requests that you give her a scratch behind the ears.
2. Don’t you wish that you could be like these cool kids?
This picture was posted in 2013, but these guys’ hairstyles are straight from the early 2000s. They’re hanging out in their pen, probably listening to Linkin Park and Nickelback. Alpacas at the start of the millennium had style.
3. These smiles will make your heart hurt.
These fluffy babies are almost too cute to bear. They’re all too eager to flash a smile at the camera as they crowd together through the fence. Can you say “two peas in a pod”? We’re just saying, “Awwww!”
4. What long legs you have!
This tiny guy already knows that he’s pretty darn cute. Most animals like him walk from the time they’re born, and he already has the legs to show off. If alpacas play basketball, he’ll be signing up for point guard one day.
5. Just a day of sun, surf, and an alpaca on a leash.
This handsome guy looks like he’s enjoying his day at the beach. He’s chewing away as he stands and looks out at the rolling waves. He doesn’t seem particularly impressed, though. I guess the ocean doesn’t measure up to his own home pen.
6. Let us tell you all about love.
This couple is definitely what the kids called #relationshipgoals. They look so happy just to be together, giving one another a quick snuggle while they pose for their picture. Their little faces make it clear that they love spending time together.
7. Alpacas celebrate Christmas too, you know.
It’s time to learn all about the alpaca culture of South America, kids. When winter rolls around and it’s time to celebrate, all the alpacas in the pen put on their festive hats and get together to chew some cud. It’s truly the Season of Giving (but no, they’re not going to share the cud).
8. Spring is here and it’s time for snacks.
There’s nothing like chowing down on some delicious grass on a warm, sunny day in spring. This alpaca is clearly enjoying it, showing off his mouthful of greens to the camera. Didn’t anyone ever tell him it’s rude to chew with your mouth open?
9. Like alpaca, like man
The two of these guys seem to be posing together to show off their uncanny resemblance. With those shiny eyes (even if those are sunglasses) and the larger-than-average teeth, this alpaca has found his brother of another species. Now, where can he find an alpaca-sized wifebeater?
10. It’s easy to relax when all your friends are made of blankets.
It’s a well-known fact that when alpacas want to take a nap, all they have to do is find a buddy. Then the two of them can curl up together and rest their heads on one another’s soft wool. Okay, we made that up, but don’t pretend you wouldn’t do it if you were an alpaca.
11. Everyone knows alpacas love selfies.
They might not be able to hold selfie sticks, but they’re more than happy to give the camera a big, cheesy grin. If you wander into a field of alpacas and take out a camera, they’ll all run over to join in. It’s not science, but it’s probably true.
12. Taking a selfie with her bestie.
For real, though, this alpaca’s selfie game rivals any girl on Instagram. We’re pretty sure you could find this exact picture of two human girls in the same pose. She’s obviously a natural when it comes to taking a perfect pic.
13. That’s quite the first impression.
Alpacas may be adorable, but they also have a reputation for being ready and willing to eat any material at any time. This alpaca decided to try a bite of this lady’s shirt, and she wasn’t thrilled about it. She should have known not to wear such a delicious top.
14. Looking this good can be a little inconvenient.
When it comes to fashion, this alpaca knows that sacrifices have to be made. Sure, he can’t see anything behind his amazing hair, but it’s worth the price. He’s not looking at you, but he knows you’re looking at him.
15. Alpacas are known for their photobomb skills.
When a tourist tries to snatch a picture without your permission, you need to go with the flow and hit him with an amazing photobomb. This alpaca clearly takes it all in stride. He was ready with a goofy face and pose before the camera was even out.
16. She’d like to speak to a manager.
This alpaca wants to say she’s furious about the way this pen is being run, and she wants to talk to a manager right now. She doesn’t care about your excuses, she wants to know why you haven’t supplied any more food. She’ll take this all the way up to corporate if she has to.
17. This alpaca is too hipster for any of you.
When it comes to colorful scarves, awesome Instagram photos, and Peruvian coffee, this alpaca is way cooler than anybody else. He also listens to all his albums on vinyl, in case you were wondering. And he eats exclusively local, organic cud.
18. This candid caught him at the wrong time.
When a visitor tried to snap a selfie with him, this alpaca was caught off guard. He’s telling himself that it probably didn’t turn out too bad. Maybe noone even noticed that he was in the middle of a sneeze when the shutter clicked.
19. Ah, spring, when an alpaca’s thoughts turn to that cutie over there.
There’s nothing like witnessing young love. These two alpacas were caught exchanging a quick kiss when their parents were distracted. They’ll never understand — they’ll be together forever. They’ll all see.
20. He’s ready for his closeup.
This young alpaca is getting ready to step in front of the camera for the first time. He’s trying to pick up some tips from one of the greats of local news: that lady in the red jacket. He’s actually studying for his communication arts degree right now.
21. Just a part of the family.
This little guy isn’t left out when it comes to family photos: he’s right there in the center of the picture. In case you missed it, he even has his very own festive sweater. And he giving the camera a happy smile.
22. Now this is an awesome birth announcement.
This alpaca mama has a birth announcement that could rival any on Instagram. She’s proud to show off her new baby, Lolly. It’s the perfect first family photo. Their Christmas card this year is going to be fabulous!
23. Are alpacas a sign of good luck?
That might not be a four-leafed clover, but this alpaca is still happy to take a nibble off of his friend. The poster says it was her last St. Patrick’s Day in the area, so she had a perfect way to celebrate: sharing a green snack with her woolly pal.
24. You’re looking at my teeth, aren’t you?
Your mother probably taught you that it’s rude to stare. When it comes to those big old alpaca teeth, however, it’s hard not to. They look so cute when their mouths are closed, but once they open them, those chompers are impressive. No wonder they enjoy eating shirts.
25. Enjoying a snuggle with his favorite gal pal.
It looks like this girl is wearing a pretty fluffy jacket herself, so she’s blending right in. As one of the family, she can snuggle right up to all the alpacas and take all the selfies her heart desires. Wait, what’s that jacket made of, anyway? Hopefully not alpaca!
26. What are you doing down there?
This photographer seems to have been trying to sneak a candid photo of the alpaca, but got caught. She doesn’t look too sorry to have startled him. Can’t a girl rest and chew some cud without the paparazzi on her tail?
27. Now that’s one happy smile.
If you’ve ever wondered what the very face of pure innocence looks like, wonder no further. It’s this little alpaca, who looks like she’s just happy to be alive. She’s thrilled that you’re here too, best buddy. How about a snuggle?
28. Excuse me, don’t you want a picture of ME?
Sure, there are plenty of other cute animals found on farms and in zoos. Just take this big pot-bellied pig, who is sunning himself in his enclosure. Unfortunately, the alpaca doesn’t seem too thrilled about that, and popped his head in to be included.
29. I’m also a part of the view.
Machu Picchu is a place in Peru that draws thousands of tourists every year. Those ancient hills are full of ancient civilization ruins that we can only begin to imagine. Of course, they’re also the home of many alpacas, including this friendly guy.
30. She’s always happy to give a kiss or two.
If you’re feeling down in the dumps, this alpaca is only too happy to lift your spirits with a kiss. Of course, alpacas are known for how much they love to spit, so kiss at your own risk. It’s all worth it when you see that sweet face.
31. Hey, you over there!
This alpaca has something important to say and he wants everybody to know it. Either that, or he’s exhausted and giving a huge yawn. Yeah, it’s probably a yawn. Quick, someone find him a nap buddy.
32. He may not be beautiful, but his mother loves him.
This little guy may well win the internet’s award for “Goofiest Faces Ever Seen on an Alpaca.” He’s flashing his giant teeth and giving the camera a good cross-eyed stare. Cute? Not exactly, but his mother loves him — and so do we.
33. What species is this?
We’re used to seeing alpacas wandering through the mountains of South America, happily chewing cud. This one has opted to take a little rest in the sunshine. Yes, he might look like an inner tube, but our real question is, where have his ears gone?
34. She is rocking those lashes.
This lovely lady needs to release a list of all the products she uses ASAP. Those eyelashes are to die for. But remember, ladies, real beauty is all about smiling — and this alpaca is giving us a giant smile as well.
35. How to summon an alpaca herd.
Apparently, if you place a camera on the ground, alpacas will appear and flock to it. Okay, that’s probably not magic as much as they’re curious about what that camera is. They definitely think it’s something delicious to eat.
