The homeless man who is being described as a hero for saving a baby in a stroller that was about to roll into traffic has revealed that he finally landed a job.

Ron Nessman just finished a job interview at a Southern California Applebee’s when he noticed the stroller rolling toward the busy street.

The San Bernardino County man, who was in the right place at the right time, didn’t think twice and simply jumped into action to the child.

According to reports, Nessman has been homeless for about eight years and after being unemployed for a long time, he told NBCLA that he will start washing dishes in the kitchen.

“I’ll earn everything I get so with that in mind, you know, I appreciate the opportunity that Applebee’s has given me. It’s really cool,” he said.

A manager for the Applebee’s told the outlet that the viral video did not factor into the job offer.

General manager Emily Canady said: “He’s a great guy and he was a great candidate, and he’ll definitely fit with us here in Team Victorville at Applebee’s.”

Nessman said he is happy to be able to work again after years of being homeless.

“I gotta come to work tomorrow and I can hardly wait to start doing what I do, you know what I mean? It’s going to be a good feeling,” he expressed.

The Good Samaritan said that he had no idea that a video of him has gone viral on social media, adding that he is just thankful that the baby and her great-aunt are doing okay.

Speaking about the incident, he told KCAL News: “I didn’t have time to even think about it. You just react.”

He added: “I knew I could get it and I got it and I’m thankful for that because I really wouldn’t want to see the end result if I wasn’t there.”
