Selena Gomez is not happy with anyone who’s linking her latest song to her former lover The Weeknd!
The starlet was seen bashing and denying speculations that the hit must track that she launched recently called ‘Single Soon’ was linked to her past relationship with the superstar.
The news comes after a media outlet put out the headline that the Blinding Lights singer and Gomez may have been a thing of the past but in Gomez’s mind, the heartbreak is still fresh and that’s why her latest single is all about that.
Therefore, the post asked viewers to shed light on the matter and comment on what they felt about her new single and if they could also sense the old heartbreak vibes through the lyrics.
The track ‘Single Soon’ has some very interesting lyrics that include the following, ‘Maybe I’ll just disappear, I don’t want to shed a tear, the Weekend is almost here!’- hence this is the part that the song really did feel about heartbreak linked from her past relationship.
Fans chimed in on what they felt before a statement was released on behalf of the singer. She says that the speculation coming forward is beyond bizarre. She said there was zero truth in what was published, and called it rubbish as well.
But Gomez was not here to play games. She says that it’s baffling as to how the press can find this behavior alright. “This couldn’t be more false. Why does everything have to be linked to the past!”- the artist continued.
She tried to justify the song and mentioned that things are not always about the Weeknd and as much as people would like them to be together, it’s not happening. Supposedly, they’ve both moved on.
The pair were together in the year 2017 and the reason why they made headlines is that they had both come out of some very public relationships. For instance, the Weeknd broke up with supermodel Bella Hadid while Gomez had just broken up with Justin Bieber.
