Actress Selma Blair is shedding light on a personal matter related to her health.
The celeb says she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis for so many decades. And this whole time, she had no clue that she was suffering from it until recently.
The star revealed through a public post how for years, she just assumed that she was awfully emotional. But in all reality, she was not. It was a part of her medical condition that was brushed away for no good reason.
But now that she is going public with the news, a few people feel she is showing narcissistic traits that focus solely on her and no one else.
The stunner says her symptoms were always there since childhood but she just never raised her voice on the matter. Moreover, she further continued to mention how her diagnosis was in 2018 and even then she was in shock because this whole time, no one could detect the condition.
“I was in disbelief. I was thinking this is a nightmare. I visited so many experts but no one said this to me”- she further mentioned.
Today, the star says she’s trying hard to raise more awareness of the condition and how it can happen to anyone and everyone. Therefore, staying alert and being mindful of the symptoms are just some of the many ways she hopes to help others along the way.
The 50-year-old actress says she’s been in remission for so long and it’s almost like a denial of having the condition.
She further raised eyebrows on how if you happen to be a boy, you’re told to get an MRI but since she was a girl, she’d be afraid that she’d be called crazy.
“I’ve had it since the age of seven and nobody took it seriously. It’s an autoimmune condition and I hope to fight against it”- she adds, vowing to never back down in the struggle.
