Baby showers are all about celebrating, good food, great moods, and of course gifts galore.
But this next story has left a bad taste in many people’s mouths for obvious reasons.
One woman says she gifted her pregnant pal something very expensive and luxurious. Soon, she found out that her pal was no longer expecting and suffered from a tragic miscarriage.
The thought of anyone spending this much money on a baby shower gift is definitely absurd to some people. And this young woman claims that the friendship was stronger than ever so she could not hold back.
“After learning about the tragedy, I told my friend how sorry I felt for her. I expressed my condolences and tried to offer support and comfort during this difficult time. But I also inquired about my gift which was worth a staggering $600”- she continued to add.
But her friend was mortified to hear this behavior. She was appalled at how insensitive she was to ask for something of this kind when she had just lost the baby that was supposed to be her happiness.
This was all done on the phone and it was just a very awkward situation for both sides to be in. One was grieving the loss of a child while the other felt that since there was no other baby in the home, the purchase would go to waste. So why pass it over to someone that had a baby recently and could use this?
The incident has sparked major outrage online. People find it just so hard to accept this behavior from someone who claims to be another’s friend.
Moreover, there were some mentions about how insensitive can anyone be, not to mention the greed that such behavior brings forward. Others call the behavior not very friendly at all.
