Oscar-winning actor Robert De Niro has confirmed that he just welcomed his seventh child.
The 79-year-old shared the incredible news during an interview to promote his new film ‘About My Father.’
Speaking to ET Canada about being a father, the Meet the Parents star said that he believes ‘in being loving with (his) kids’ but also expressed that he has ‘to be stern about stuff.’
“I mean, there’s no way around it with kids. I don’t like to have to lay down the law and stuff like that. But, [sometimes] you just have no choice,” he continued.
“And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you can’t.”
When a journalist mentioned that the actor had six children, De Niro quickly corrected him and said: “Seven actually.”
He added: “I just had a baby.”
The star did not share more details about the new member of their family but a representative confirmed that he had just welcomed his seventh child.
De Niro has two children: Raphael, 46, and Drena, 51, with his ex-wife Diahne Abbott; two children Helen, 11, and Elliot, 25, with Grace; twins Julian and Aaron, 27, with former partner Toukie Smith.
According to reports, he was most recently photographed with martial arts instructor Tiffany Chen after his split from his ex-wife Grace Hightower in 2018.
The two were spotted having dinner with Billy Crystal and Harvey Keitel at Giorgio Baldi’s private room in Santa Monica.
Chen seemed to have a baby bump at that time.
