The sister of a leading NBA superstar has just been sentenced to life in prison.
Sources from local media outlets claim the woman is guilty of murdering an elderly citizen. And now, there’s little to no hope of parole attached to the crime too.
Kimesha Williams who happens to be the sister of a famous Clippers player, Kawhi Leonard just received the devastating news as family members of the victim were cheering with their job as they felt for the first time that closure was obtained in the case and justice had been served.
The 39-year-old suspect was convicted of first-degree murder, abuse of an elderly citizen, and robbery too. The incidents took place at the start of this year but the sentencing was done on Friday by the judge in regard to the crime.
Meanwhile, another individual had received similar punishment for the crime that had arisen a while back, sources confirmed.
As per reports from The San Francisco Paper, Williams and Townsell followed Afaf Assad into a bathroom at a Casino in California. One of them went inside while the other stood guard on the outside.
They saw the victim taking her purse with her and they decided to rob her of all the cash and made sure she wouldn’t utter a sound during the incident. And when she did, they killed her and walked out with the money.
The victim’s family says that the elderly woman was just enjoying her time at the casino and enjoyed playing. But little did she know that cruel people were present in this world who eyed her money from afar.
The victim’s family also shed light on how it was just so heartbreaking to see how long it took for the criminal system to serve justice but as the old saying goes, they are happy that it came better late than never.
