A couple from Boston has won a massive $15 million settlement after their six-month-old son died during a sleep study session.
The horrifying incident took place at a Children’s Hospital in Boston. And the parents were devastated to learn that their baby was deprived of oxygen for 20 minutes.
Becky and Ryan Kekula say that the case may be a victory for them but nothing can fill the empty void left behind after their little child’s death.
The couple who hails from Plymouth in Massachusettes explained how this was just uncalled for many reasons. A hospital deprived their child of oxygen which led to his death is unbelievably shocking and tragic.
The couple reportedly brought the child in for a sleep study and car seat test session. But little did they know or were they aware of the dangers attached.
This was just uncalled for, they revealed. During the study, the child’s oxygen levels just fell down to zero. It was shocking, they explained while wiping tears from across their faces.
Just moments later, the couple was informed about their baby entering into a state of cardiac arrest. They were informed about how the medical staff present tried to do everything in their power to save him including CPR but it was in vain.
He was gone and it’s just so tragic how all of the events unfolded in such a short span of time.
The sudden loss of oxygen caused brain damage that was irreversible. The child was on his death bed and there was nothing now that could be done to save him.
The state’s public health department took a closer look at the incident and today revealed how the hospital made a series of errors that left the child in a vulnerable position, causing him to die in the end.
