An American Horror Story star has revealed that she did not want Kim Kardashian in the series.
Patti LuPone, who appeared in the third season of the show, has slammed the casting and argued that the reality star-turned-lawyer should not appear.
The show has starred big names like Sarah Paulson, Lady Gaga, Jessica Lange, Emma Roberts, Connie Britton, and Angela Basset.
Now, Kardashian has landed herself a leading role in the twelfth season of American Horror Story, titled Delicate.
On April 10, she took to Twitter and shared a short video of a lullaby with a text that read hers and Roberts’ names.
Ryan Murphy, one of the creators of the series, also said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter: “Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family.”
“Emma [Roberts] and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture,” Murphy continued.
“Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish, and ultimately terrifying role, especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”
Delicate is based on a novel by Danielle Valentine titled Delicate Condition, which is “a gripping thriller that follows a woman convinced a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens – while the men in her life refuse to believe a word she says.”
Appearing on What Happens Next Live, LuPone revealed that she felt Kim was taking the role away from other aspiring actors.
“Excuse me, excuse me, Kim… you know… what are you doing with your life? Don’t get on the stage, Mrs Worthington,” she said.
